At Westbrook Congregational Church we express our faith through our participation in many wonderful ministries. Our congregation is active in supporting our church, local, and global communities through a wide variety of amazing outreach and caregiving programs!
The Deacons’ Ministry
The word deacon literally means ‘servant.’ The deacons serve the members of the church and assist the pastor. Some of their duties include ushering during Sunday worship, serving Communion at church and in homes, and making visitations to church members in times of need.
Community Meal Site
Every Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. the Westbrook Congregational Church partners with The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries to provide a delicious meal open to the entire community. There are no reservations required, there is no charge, and all are welcome to attend. Come join the feast!
Friday Night Live
Friday Night Live is our monthly community fellowship program! Join us on the last Friday of the month for a fun-filled hour featuring games, entertainment, crafts, refreshments and more. Each month features a different activity. Come for the Friday Community Meal (starting at 6:00 p.m.) and stay for the fellowship, or just come for the program starting at 7:30 p.m.
The WCC Mission Committee is responsible for organizing much of the congregation’s outreach work. This group puts on some fantastic events such as the Crop Walk, a holiday giving tree for children in need, food drives for the Shoreline Food Pantry, One Great Hour of Sharing, and more!
